Chamber Committees
LEGISLATIVE:
Watches federal, state and local issues; formulates Chamber positions and sponsors debates and political forums. On the second week of May, the Legislative Committee and the Chamber coordinates a trip to our state house, presenting issues of Lawrence County interest.
SOCIAL AFFAIRS & MARKETING:
Develops and plans chamber events and functions working with the Close-Up program, Installation Banquet, Business After Hours, Awards Banquet .
Installation Banquet: The passing of the baton to new President and officers is an annual event in June of each year.
Business After Hours: is a networking opportunity for all Chamber members. These events are special project planned at the request of the President.
TRANSPORTATION:
Volunteers with 15 years of experience overseeing and guiding the transportation needs of Lawrence County with vested oversight of the Chesapeake Bypass Development now called The Tri-State Outer Belt.
NATURAL RESOURCES:
A dedicated committee charged with the oversight and care of Lawrence County’s natural resources acts as community liason to the Ohio EPA.
EDUCATION:
This committee is charged with addressing education issues, identifying annual education forums for Lawrence County students and networking with the employment and training community. Close-Up Program: An annual February event. Students from area High Schools are selected to participate in this educational program on the U. S. government..
