Historic Homes Self Guided Tour:
Come see the historical homes of the City of Ironton’s Pioneers! Maps of Ironton’s historical Victorian district are available at the Greater Lawrence County Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. For more Info: 740-377-4550

Historic State Route 75 Tunnel:
This 165-foot structure was built in 1866. Today, a staircase allows visitors to climb outside the top of the tunnel to view the scenic landscape of the tri-state region using high-powered telescope. Location: intersection of U.S. Route 52 and U.S Route 93 in Ironton, Ohio.

Historic Iron Furnaces:
Relics of Lawrence County’s vigorous industrial past, scattered throughout the beautiful wooded hills of the Hanging Rock Region. For more info: 740-377-4550

Burlington 37 Monument:
In 1849, James Tyman freed his 37 slaves from Madison County, Virginia and gave them land in Burlington, Ohio. Today, a monument stands memorializing the 37 slaves at the entrance of Burlington Cemetery. Location: Wal-mart Way Ave-off Route 52. For more info: 740-377-4550

Wayne National Forest:
Features camping, canoeing, fishing, hiking horseback riding, walking and off road vehicle trails. Location: Route 93, Pedro, Ohio. For more info: 740-534-6500

Timbre Ridge Farm:
 On the farm are an old tobacco barn, a smokehouse converted to a chicken coop, a vegetable cellar, pasture, hay fields and an apple, cherry and pear orchard. Location: 1116 Township Road 217, Scottown, Ohio. For more info: Marlene & Carl Gruetter- 740-256-1866

Riverfront Picnic Shelters:
Enjoy river traffic as you picnic along the Ohio River. Or walk drive down the Burlington Community Park, also along the Ohio River. Location: Ferry and 2nd Streets-South Point, Ohio and Washington Ave, Burlington, Ohio. For more info: South Point Mayor’s office- 740-377-4838

Paul Porter Park:
The site of many Lawrence County events! Breath in the beautiful landscape of this park developed by the Coal Grove Betterment Club. For more info: Sue Triplett 740-532-9800

Ohio River Floodwalls Murals:
Discover the history of Lawrence County depicted along the floodwall facing the beautiful Ohio River and painted by local artists. Location: North 2nd Street, Ironton, Ohio.

Ohio University Southern:
Come in and view the detailed artwork of local Lawrence County artists displayed in the corridors of Ohio University Southern or listen to the music of honored guest performances in the university rotunda. Location: 1804 Liberty Avenue, Ironton, Ohio. For more info: 740-533-4600

Dean State Forest:
The highest point in Lawrence County, Ohio is located in the forest at Decatur Township with an elevation of 1,055 feet.

Ohio River Observation Point:
Three states can be viewed from this vantage point in South Point, Ohio. A sheltered picnic area is available as well as a paved ramp for launching watercraft.

Timbre Ridge Lake:
This lake has a paved ramp for watercraft and is best known for bass fishing.

Rally on the River

This year's event includes performances from: Rhett Rotten Wall of Death, Mr. Speed Kiss Tribute Band, Parrots of the Caribbean, and Thunderstruck! This event offers motorcycle enthusiasts activities, vendors, car shows, bike shows, music entertainment and food all weekend! But the rally also offers riders a chance to explore the Tri-State of Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia. Discover small river towns nestled along the Ohio River; revel in the metropolitan life Huntington offers, and cruise the scenic by-ways through the hills and valleys of the region.
